HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
What should I wear?
Always wear comfy clothes. If you’re comfortable wear not bra or panties to avoid lines. You will be able to pick out your gowns at the session.
What about my nails?
Please have your nails done since they will be shown a lot. If you prefer not to have them done, just have them cleaned of any debris or polish.
What should my spouse wear?
Preferably nice dress shoes with dark khakis or grey/black slacks and a button up shirt. A blazer is optional. However, dark jeans are fine with a black/tan/or white button up. It all depends if you want more classic or formal outfits.
What should my child wear?
Feel free to send me any outfits you have. If you decide to go shopping, I would love to get photographs to help. I recommend bringing at least two outfits. Don’t be scared to add patterns. I will help style you!
How do I choose my gowns?
You have the option to come two weeks prior but most of my clients choose looking through my portfolio or at their session. That’s why I recommend a solid button up for your spouse. You will be able to try on any dress you love. I will pull colors and others depending on what your questionnaire says. You can have up to four outfit changes. That doesn’t include fabric or fine art nude.
Do I need to bring anything?
Not at all! That is the best part. We have 150+ gowns, robes, bodysuits, and more. We have also added a lot of jewelry. All you have to do is come in your comfy clothes. Snacks and drinks are always stocked in the studio for any one who wants to enjoy them!
When will the session take place?
Maternity sessions typically take place Saturday 2:00-3:00. Depending on time change. If you prefer just studio, they will be done at 11:00 during the week.
How far ahead do I need to book if I haven’t already?
I always say the earlier the better. Clients typically book in their first trimester to ensure availability. However, second it fine depending on my availability. Maternity sessions take place 29-34 weeks.
Are sibling/family shots included?
ABSOLUTELY! I definitely encourage siblings and spouses to join. There is no additional charge.
Can I recommend any specific poses?
Definitely! I do have a specific workflow but at your consultation, we will talk about your vision. Feel free to send me any photographs from my portfolio. It will give you a better idea of gowns plus help you get familiar with my style.
