Shreveport Photographer | Ellie's Newborn Session

I met Amber and Robert in middle school I believe. It has been so long but when she reached out for her son’s newborn session, I was beyond thrilled. Not only then but now too when she reached out for her daughter’s newborn session. I was thrilled to get to see them again. I did Beckett’s first year portraits. I seriously can’t believe he his already three. When they tell you that you don’t understand until you have children… They are lying. I feel the same way about my clients. Oh it’s already time to schedule a first year session? NO WAY. It flies by so quick so don’t blink too fast. That is coming from a mother of a 9 year old. Trust me, you will look back and tears will fall. It will always be a bittersweet moment.

Remember those early days when your child's tiny hand could barely wrap around your finger? It feels like just yesterday, doesn't it? But time has a funny way of flying by, and suddenly you find yourself marveling at how much they've grown. From their first steps to their first day of school, every milestone marks a new chapter in their lives and in your heart.

As parents, it's our privilege to witness and support this incredible growth. We become their biggest cheerleaders, guiding them through the ups and downs, and celebrating their triumphs along the way. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from pride to a touch of sadness, as we watch them gain independence and navigate their own path.

One of the beautiful things about children growing up is witnessing their blossoming personalities. They develop their own interests, passions, and quirks that make them unique. One day they might be obsessed with dinosaurs, and the next day they're convinced they're going to be an astronaut. These little glimpses into their ever-evolving minds are priceless and make for some of the most memorable moments.

Growing up isn't just about the big milestones; it's also about the small, everyday experiences that shape our children. It's the messy art projects that cover the kitchen table, the impromptu dance parties in the living room, and the bedtime stories that become treasured traditions. It's the scraped knees and the tearful goodbyes on the first day of school, and the moments when they surprise us with their wisdom and kindness.
