When Dejon reached out to me, I could feel her excitement. It is always best to talk via phone about specific details. I could hear in the tone of her voice how much she valued photography. Saylor is a IUI baby! She was a miracle baby from the start. I love hearing how every woman has a different story. It brings me joy to hear all the miracle stories. It also gives me hope for my own journey! Saylor was born early weighing less than one lb. I know Dejon was worried when she first texted me. I have never experienced a baby being born that early. I knew I had to be there for her. I wanted her to know we would still have time to take newborn photographs. In situations like this, some parents worry it’ll be too late. However, I work on babies time to capture the cutest shots. It’s never too late! I couldn’t imagine the worry and fear Dejon must have felt during this time. To some I might just be a photographer but to others, I am a friend. I get to know my clients on a deeper level which means I will 100% be there to support them at all times. Scotty had to rush to be by her side because it was unexpected when she gave birth. Beautiful Saylor spent 94 days in the NICU. When she was finally released, Dejon and Scotty were THRILLED. How incredible is that?

She was 3 months and only six lbs when she came to my studio. I knew I had to make it special sine she wasn’t able to get maternity photographs. Dejon expressed how the doctors refer to her as a newborn since she her due date wasn’t that long ago. When she told me she was in between newborn and three months, I started seeing that. She loved to stretch as far as she could. She also wanted to see everything going on during her session. I love awake shots because her eyes were so beautiful. She sure loved to talk to me. You could hear all the cute little noises in her tiny voice. Dejon did not hesitate to ask if I needed anything during the session. It means a lot when parents want to be involved because they get to see more of the behind the scenes. All the colors fit Saylor so well. I am glad mom chose green. That was her favorite. She was also the only baby small enough to fit in my chair. Since it was right before Christmas, mom asked for Christmas set ups. <3

At her ordering, Dejon was thrilled to finally see them since her ordering was delayed. Saylor had to have emergency surgery. No worries, she is recovering perfectly. I loved the little happy dance Dejon did while viewing them. Saylor already gained two more lbs. She grew fast in just two weeks. I promise they grow up faster than you think. She fell in love with the acrylic albums! It’s going to be perfect to see her story in one place. It’s easy to display your favorite ones on the wall. You can also put all your photographs in an album. That way they will be in one place for you and your family to enjoy.
